Serving Amateur Radio In North Western Wisconsin, the Barron County Amateur Radio Association is a local group of hams that enjoy the hobby of amateur radio. The Club’s mission is to: advance general interest and knowledge of amateur radio, promote cooperation and exchange of information between members, conduct club programs, and provide public service support for community activities. The Barron County Amateur Radio Association Inc. (BCARA) is an ARRL affiliated and located in Barron, Wisconsin.
Members are active in many aspects of ham radio including:
- Emergency preparedness and communications
- Radio contesting
- VHF, UHF, and HF communications
- Packet radio & high speed data communications
- DXing (long distance communications)
- QSL card collecting
- ..and just plain rag-chewing.
